Additional information
Son of William and Bertha Weidner of Moosehorn, Manitoba. On the 7th January 1943, he was "granted permission to marry W 10331 Private Argue, Edith Mary, #14 Coy, CWAC (Canadian Women's Army Corps) Brandon, Man." They were married on 18 February 1943 in Brandon, Manitoba.

Gunner William Weidner was transferred to Canada in October of 1943 due to poor health and was in and out of the hospital until his discharge on 14 January 1944. William and his family moved to Winnipeg from Brandon, where he worked for the Canadian National Railway. He died at King Edward Hospital in Winnipeg of tuberculosis, attributable to service, on 11 February 1947.

Brother of Rifleman Adolph Weidner who died on August 18, 1944 while serving with the Regina Rifle Regiment.
