Son of Peter F. and Isabella Ramsay, of Port Alberni, British Columbia. Distinguished Flying Cross, London Gazette dated 30 November 1943 "This officer has been bombing leader in his squadron for a period of seven months and during that time has taken part in a large number of operations against German and Italian targets. Flight Lieutenant Ramsay has, by his enthusiasm and leadership, set a splendid example of accurate bombing to all crews and has himself on several occasions made a second or third bombing run." Belgian Croix de Guerre 1940 with Palm (Deceased) Awarded as per Canada Gazette 17 July 1948, "For exceptional war services rendered to Belgium in the course of liberation and in its defence".

WEBBEKOM CHURCHYARD Belgium

WEBBEKOM CHURCHYARD is located 30 Km east of Leuven. From the Grote Markt in the centre of Diest take the Sint-Jan Berchmanstraat which leads directly away from the Stadhuis. Take the first right into the Leuvensestraat and travel 400 m to a main set of traffic lights. Turn left at these lights onto the N10 Commissaris Neyskenslaan for 500 m. Turn right onto the E Robeynslaan (N2) and follow this road for 1.3 kilometers. This will bring you almost into Webbekom. Turn left into Webbekomstraat and go 100 m further where you will find the cemetery surrounding the church on the right side of the road. The Commission plot is to the rear of the church.
