Brother of Helen, Margaret, Grace, Anne, Winnifred and Warrant Officer I James Alexander Riddell, 239 Wing RAF, killed in a training accident on 3 August 1942. Flying Officer Riddell is also commemorated on the Masonic War Memorial at Malden Park, in Windsor, Ontario.
