Royal Canadian Mounted Police
Cst. Bruce was born in New Brunswick. In training he was respected for his patience and helpfulness. He served in British Columbia at Kamloops, Lytton, and Kelowna. Cst. Bruce was always helping someone, stepping in for a person in trouble and was used to resolving issues with little harm being done. He died in the hospital at Kelowna of pneumonia from complications resulting from a bullet wound while investigating a complaint at Power Creek, British Columbia.
Cst. Bruce was married to Sandra and they had a son and a daughter. He is buried at Lakeview Memorial Park in Kelowna, British Columbia. In 2000, the Cst. Neil Bruce Middle School was opened in Westbank, British Columbia. His son, Don, later became a member of the Force.
