S/Cst. Jarvis was a First World War veteran. He was hired during the Second World War as a Special Constable guardsman on the Cornwall-Williamsburg canal system on the St. Lawrence River. He drowned while on duty near Lock 25, Cornwall Canal, Iroquois, Ontario. S/Cst. Jarvis was a married man with two children. He is buried in Morrisburg, Ontario.
