Corporal Haddock was born in Belfast. He was promoted to Corporal April 11, 1889. In 1900, he took leave from NWMP and enlisted with the Canadian Mounted Rifles to participate in the Boer War. Upon his return in 1901 he re-engaged with the NWMP. Corporal Haddock drowned while on patrol in the Yukon River. His body was never recovered. At the time of his death in 1906, he was in charge of Stewart River Detachment in the Yukon.
