Constable Elliott was believed to have been a Troop Sergeant Major in the 7th Regiment, United States Cavalry. He engaged in the NWMP at Winnipeg and was one of five NCO’s and men of “A” Division. He was killed near Battleford, Northwest Territories, while on scout patrol.
Constable Elliott was awarded the North West Canada Medal (1885) which is in the museum in Regina. His wife had predeceased him. They had a daughter named Minnie.
