Visitor centre hours
Hours for the visitor centres at Beaumont-Hamel Newfoundland Memorial and Canadian National Vimy Memorial:
- Spring and summer (April 1 – September 30)
- Monday: 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
- Tuesday to Sunday: 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
- Fall and winter (October 1 – March 31)
- Monday: 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- Tuesday to Sunday: 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
*In 2026, the two visitor centres will be open from January 31 to December 11. During this time, student guides and interpretive services will be available.
Both visitor centres are closed from mid-December until early February. During this time, student guides and interpretive services are not available.
Parking lot hours
At Beaumont-Hamel Newfoundland Memorial:
- Always open (no gates).
At Canadian National Vimy Memorial:
- Spring and summer (April 1 – September 30)
- Gates open: 10:00 a.m.
- Visitor Centre entrance gate closes: 5:30 p.m.
- Visitor Centre exit gate closes: 6:00 p.m.
- Givenchy and Cemetery No. 2 gate closes: 5:00 p.m.
- Fall and winter (October 1 – March 31)
- Gates open: 9:00 a.m.
- Visitor Centre entrance gate closes: 4:30 p.m.
- Visitor Centre exit gate closes: 5:00 p.m.
- Givenchy and Cemetery No. 2 gate closes: 4:00 p.m.
Notices
Artifacts
You may come across rusted shells, mortars or grenades. Do not touch them as they are potentially dangerous. If possible, notify us about the location where you found the artifact.
Forest conservation project
In 2021, Veterans Affairs Canada announced a 10-year forest conservation initiative at the Canadian National Vimy Memorial and the Beaumont-Hamel Newfoundland Memorial in France.
