The Memorial, that consists of a rock cairn and brass plaque, was originally erected and dedicated by the Royal Canadian Legion West Smoky Branch No. 244 in 1992.  The Plaque was updated to include all of the young serviceman who lost their lives in WWI and WWII and re-dedicated during  a special "Fallen Heroes Event" in 2019.  Inside the Legion building is a "Wall of Remembrance" where a local couple, Earl and Allie Weegar,  had acquired and framed pictures complete with name plates of many of the  young men and women from the Bezanson area who had enlised in WWI and WWII.  Those for whom a picture could not be found were honoured with a brass name plate.  Another wall, the "Wall of Honour"  holds the "Fallen Heroes Memorials" that were unveiled during the same event that the cairn was re-dedicated.  The Memorials, that honour the young men who lost their lives in WWI and WWII, include a picture, a brief biography of their short lives and a picture of the area where they lost their lives.  The project was undertaken as a partnership with the Canadian Fallen Heroes Foundation.

The Canadian Bridge Company erected the 1736 foot railroad suspension Peace Bridge over the Peace River between May and November 1918. 

The Canadian Motorcycle Tourism Association envisioned, built and managed the Veterans Memorial Gardens & Interpretive Centre. The founder and lead of this project, is a member of the Canadian Army Veterans Motorcycle Units, a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, and was born on the armed forces base in Fort Churchill Manitoba. She is also a Dame in the Order of St George.

The Afghanistan War Monument and Park is a half acre pocket garden and outdoor living museum,  a memorial for fallen soldiers, a place to honour silver cross families,  and to learn about the regional military history for northwestern Alberta. The park includes the monument and walkways with “points of interest” for visitors to explore. There is also a miniature replica of the St Louis "Peace Arch".

The Afghanistan War Monument was unveiled in the fall of 2017. It is the centre piece of the memorial gardens. It is made from black granite and stands six feet high at its peak. It lists the names of all 158 Canadians killed in that country.

The monument honours Master Cpl. Timothy Wilson, who died of injuries from a car crash during a patrol near Kandahar, Afghanistan. Wilson, a member of Princess Patricia Canadian Light Infantry, was born in Grande Prairie and lived here until he was nine. 

The eight sections of the garden takes people through Canada’s military history and includes tributes to the three fallen members of the Loyal Edmonton Regiment, information on Grande Prairie’s air and army cadets as well as ANAVETS and the Royal Canadian Legion. One also shows how Grande Prairie was home to the No. 132 Canadian Army (Basic) Training Centre during  the Second World War and was the regimental home to D Company of the Loyal Edmonton Regiment.

This memorial, a stone cairn and plaque, was unveiled by community members of Debolt, Alberta, in 1945. The memorial is dedicated to 5 fallen soldiers that lost their lives from the community of Debolt.

This Memorial was unveiled on September 22nd, 2001 in conjunction with the 75th anniversary celebration of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch No. 140. It was built so that the aging veterans could still march in the Remembrance Day celebrations. Since it was located on the south side of the hall even the members in walkers or with canes could still march in the Remembrance Day celebration and feel part of the group. Comrade Bob Pepper was the driving force behind this project with the Branch approval on the design and cost. The Memorial was constructed by SunCrest Monuments and created by Les Bignold. The cost was $6,800 with the breakdown as follows: $390.00 for the plastic cover to protect it from vandals $736.30 for the base $1,265.17 for cement $3,197.16 for the 3 flag poles With GST the total cost was $7,276.00 This granite memorial is coated in plastic to protect it from vandalism. It has the legion crest on the front, along with a soldier’s head and shoulders, and a maple leaf in a circlet. On the left side is the head and shoulders of a Navy Sailor and on the right is the head and shoulders of an Air Force Pilot.

Earlier in the day, the Valleyview Legion and the Legion Ladies Auxiliary dedicated a new memorial cenotaph south of the Memorial Hall in honour of the 75th anniversary. The monument was designed by Bob Pepper, past president of the Valleyview Legion, with input from the other Legion members and was constructed by Suncrest Monuments. The dedication was officiated by Rev. Richard Conrad Sedgewick, the Chaplain for the Alberta, NWT Command. Wreaths were laid near the base of the new cenotaph in memory of the men and women who lost their lives during World War I, World War II, the Korean War and during peacekeeping missions. The memorial bears the legion crest as well as beautifully etched representatives (army, navy, air force) of the Canadian Armed Forces on three of its four granite faces.

The Pioneer Dedication Memorial was erected in September 1996, in memory of Pioneers of the Valleyview area and honour those to whom the torch of Pioneer Spirit has been passed. This project was undertaken as a Memorial to the cemetery as the original building was torn down to make room for future upkeep.

The Diamond Jubilee Commemoration Memorial was constructed in September 1986, in memory of those who died so we may live. The Cenotaph and Park were a Diamond Jubilee project taken on by the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 140.

This memorial to those who served was erected by the Royal Canadian Legion.

This memorial to the war dead of the First and Second World Wars and the Korean War was erected by Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 174.

This memorial was erected by Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 235.
