Join the members of the 33 Combat Engineer Regiment (33 CER), Veterans, families, and supporters as we gather to honour the proud history, service, and sacrifice of Canada’s military engineers.

This annual commemorative ceremony recognizes the contributions of past and present members of the regiment while remembering those who answered the call to serve Canada. Through reflection, remembrance, and fellowship, participants will pay tribute to the values of duty, leadership, teamwork, and service that continue to define the engineer spirit.

The 105th Anniversary Warriors’ Day Parade will be held on 22 August 2026 at the Canadian National Exhibition in Toronto. This year our theme is “Supporting Our Veterans Since the First World War.” The parade will begin at 10:30am and march through the historic Princes' Gate at the CNE. Participation in the Warriors' Day Parade is open to military, paramilitary marching contingents, first responders and bands, veterans' contingents and military-themed living history/re-enactor contingents. Please see our website for more information.

The Royal Newfoundland Regiment Advisory Council will be holding a ceremony at the National War Memorial in Ottawa to mark the 110th anniversary of the Battles of the Somme and Beaumont-Hamel.

The Battles of the Somme and Beaumont-Hamel were significant military engagements during the First World War. On July 1, 1916, the Newfoundland Regiment suffered devastating losses at Beaumont-Hamel, marking one of the bloodiest days of the war. This day is recognized in Newfoundland and Labrador as Memorial Day, honoring the courage and sacrifice of those who fought.

To honour the sacrifices and stories of the Canadian soldiers who served in the Defence of Hong Kong in WWII.

In 1941, Canada dispatched 1,975 soldiers from across the country to Hong Kong to reinforce the city’s garrison against an impending attack by the Japanese Imperial Army. That attack took place on December 7, 1941, resulting in 290 Canadian deaths and 483 wounded. The survivors became Prisoners of War of a brutal and uncaring enemy. On August 15, 1945, the 1,418 surviving POWs were released from their 3 year and 8 month ordeal.
