This plaque was erected in honour of Danforth United Church parishioners who died in the Second World War.

Danforth United changed its name to Eastminster United after amalgamating with North Broadview United Church in 1966. A further amalgamation occurred in 1984 when the congregation of Donlands United joined. In 2018, Eastminster United joined with Cosburn United and Glen Rhodes United to become East End United Regional Ministry.

On February 7, 1921, a shield was unveiled in honour of Fred Victor Methodist Mission members who were killed in battle during the First World War. The shield contained 24 maple leaves, each containing the name of a soldier who fell in the war.

Fred Victor Mission disbanded as a worship congregation in 1976 and continued as a ministry of the United Church. The church building at the corner of Queen and Jarvis Streets no longer exists and it is not known what happened to the shield.
