Provide your feedback

We want to hear from you.

Tell us about:

  • your thoughts on VAC’s Accessibility Action Plan
  • accessibility barriers at VAC
  • how VAC can prevent and remove these barriers
  • accessibility best practices or success stories

An accessibility barrier is anything that does not allow persons with disabilities to be included and take part in all areas of life and society. Barriers prevent persons with disabilities from taking part in the same way that persons without disabilities can.

The Accessible Canada Act identifies five types of accessibility barriers:

  • physical and/or architectural barriers
  • technological barriers
  • information and communication barriers
  • attitudinal barriers
  • systemic barriers
