The Arras Flying Services Memorial is in the Faubourg-d'Amiens Cemetery, which is in the Boulevard du General de Gaulle in the western part of the town of Arras, near the Citadel, approximately 2 kilometres due west of the railway station.

  • Circumstances of death– Captain Reginald Arthur James was killed in action on 16 JULY 1918 while serving with the 54th Squadron of the Royal Air Force. His plane, a Sopwith Camel C1609 was last seen over Rozoy, France (north of Reims). German Ace F. Hemer of Jasta 6 claimed the downing of Captain James. Prior to service in the Royal Air Force, he had served with the 5th Middlesex Regiment of the British Army, where he had accepted an Officer's Commission after leaving the Canadian Expeditionary Force. After arriving in Canada from Scotland, he served in the 102nd Regiment (militia) "Rocky Mountain Rangers". When the war broke out he attested to the 54th Battalion CEF and was later transferred to the 30th Reserve Battalion CEF. It was then he left the CEF to accept an Officers Commission in the British Army. (note the date correction of his death to July not June and 54th Sqn RAF after 5th Middlesex Regiment)
