Son of Joseph Drolet and Philomène Desbiens, of Manchester, New Hampshire, and Baie-St-Paul, Charlevoix. He stated being born on 1 May 1880 when he enlisted.

On 1 April 1918, in the trenches of Mercatel, France, he was mortally wounded by a piece of enemy shell. He was evacuated to No. 6 Canadian Field Ambulance in Bac-du-Sud, near Bailleulval, where he died the next day.

Bailleulval is a village in the Department of the Pas-de-Calais about 13 kilometres south-west of Arras, and the BAC-DU-SUD BRITISH CEMETERY is one kilometre west of the village on the north side of the main road from Arras to Doullens (N25)
