Son of Benjamin and Wanda Christina (nee Stenberg) McNally of Minaki, Ontario. He died in a Lancaster PB416. Employed at Canadian National Railway before enlisting.
Brother of Aircraftman 2nd Class John Henry McNally, who died during service with the Royal Canadian Air Force.
1939-45 Star, Air Crew Europe Star, France & Germany Star, Defence Medal, General Service Medal, Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp and Operational Wings posthumously awarded 9 December 1946

The plane crashed into a hillside killing all but Denis Shea and James Naylor.

Nesbyen Churchyard contains the graves of ten Commonwealth airmen, the crew of a Lancaster of 617 Squadron which crashed on a mountain top nearby on 17 September 1944, where they were originally buried. One of the airmen is unidentified
