Son of Pierre Auger and Malvina Leclair.
He was baptized under the name Georges Auger.
Auger died on April 2, 1942 from injuries sustained when his ship sank or from frostbite on board the Soviet minesweeper that came to the rescue of the crew.
The SS Induna was torpedoed at 9:32 a.m. on March 30, 1942 by U-376 northeast of the Kola Inlet in the Barents Sea. She caught fire and at 9:39 a.m. received a final blow and sank, position 70°55'N/37°18'E.

Murmansk is a seaport on the Kola peninsula. The Russian Cemetery Extension is on the north-eastern side of the town, about two miles from its centre, and a mile from the main Murmansk-Valenga road. It adjoins the Russian Military Cemetery of the Finnish war.
