A plaque on the exterior wall of Leaside Memorial Community Gardens, a hockey arena and recreational complex at 1073 Millwood Road, Toronto. The original facility was opened in 1951 and was named in remembrance of local (Leaside) men who died in World War II. James Edward Wilkes, Pilot Officer, RCAF Killed in action, flying Hudson bomber over English Channel, September 6, 1942. Brother of my Dad, who gave me his name. Uncle Jim is buried in Dunkirk, France. I visited his grave in 1978.

DUNKIRK TOWN CEMETERY Nord, France
DUNKIRK TOWN CEMETERY is at the south-eastern corner of the town of Dunkirk, immediately south of the canal and on the road to Veurne (Furnes) in Belgium. The British War Graves Plot is divided from the main cemetery by a hedge, and is entered through the columns of the Dunkirk Memorial.
