Photo courtesy of Rich Allenby (See www.allenby.info/aircraft/planes/insea/hale.html) On the 15th of January 1942 this aircraft took off from Stradishall at 17.40hrs for Ops to Hamburg. For some reason the aircraft drifted too far north on its return and it was presumed to have crashed into the North Sea off Whitby killing all on board. Two bodies were recovered. The rest of the crew have no known grave. -
