Sgt. Goff was killed on active service at the age of 22 while attached to No. 15 (Pilot) Advanced Flying Unit, Royal Air Force when his Airspeed AS10 Oxford 1 (AT739) crashed at Bigby, Lincolnshire in a flying accident on May 4, 1942.
