  • Photo of Alec Trueman– Alec Trueman was intelligent and politically aware. Recognising the menace of Nazism as early as 1935, he trained as a pilot, and joined the RAF in 1938. My mother, Jane Bernard, was his girlfriend for five years. He was the love of her life.
