  • Grave marker– Gravestone of J/20595 Flying Officer Kenneth Brant THOMAS (Pilot), killed on 12th September 1943 shortly after take off from RAF Port Ellen (now Islay Airport), Islay, Scotland. F/O Thomas died alongside his Navigator, F/O James Roy WALDRON, when his Bristol Beaufighter TF.X (serial LX946) struck high ground near their airfield. They were serving with 304FTU and were engaged on a training flight at the time of the accident.
