Location:

Aix-Noulette is a village in the Department of the Pas-de-Calais, about 13 kilometres south of Bethune on the main road to Arras. From Arras take the D937 towards Bethune. At Aix-Noulette, turn right at the church. The AIX-NOULETTE COMMUNAL CEMETERY and EXTENSION are a few hundred metres on the left side of the road to Bully-Grenay.

  • Southampton Cenotaph– Ernest Boyle was born in Guelph Ontario on January 29th, 1895, but his Attestation lists his "next-of-kin" as Mr. R. Boyle, a resident of Southampton, Ontario.  Prior to the war, Boyle was a sailor. Ernest Boyle is remembered on the Southampton Cenotaph.  He enlisted in the CEF on December 20th, 1915 in Walkerton, Ontario.  The Southampton Cenotaph includes plaques with the names of men from World Wars 1 & 2.  The WWI list is inscribed:  "In grateful remembrance of the men of Southampton who fought and died in the Great War".
