  • Newspaper clipping– This is a newspaper article about the plane crash in IJmuiden in which John Robert Brennan died. He died on the day of my grandparent's wedding. They had just gotten into the horse carriage to go to the townhall to get married. At that time the Whirlwind crashed nearby into the Noordzeekanaal (North Sea Canal). The horses panicked and ran wild. I found this newspaper clipping with my grandparent's marriage certificate.
  • Photo of John Robert Brennan– I live near the war cemetery in Bergen. I visited Mr. Brennan's grave to pay my respects. It has been 80 years since his passing. His plane crash made quite a mark on my grandparent's wedding day. The horses of their marriage carriage panicked from all the loud noises and ran off.
