(Photo courtesy of Frans van Cappellen, The Netherlands) Wellington aircraft X-3420 was airborne 1806 14 Feb 43 from Dishforth on a mission to Cologne, Germany. Shot down by a night-fighter and crashed 2100 5 km WSW of Roermond. All were initially taken to Venlo for burial. They have been subsequently re-interred in Jonkerbos War Cemetery. The crew were: 426 Sqdn Commander W/C S. S. Blanchard; Sgt K. W. Tutton (P2); P/O P. W.J eanneret; Sgt A. G. Longwell; F/S J. H. Eveline, and Sgt P. M. Corley, RAF. -
