Location:

Makkum, administered by the commune of Wonseradeel, is on the eastern coast of the Ijsselmeer (Zuyder Zee) 13 kilometres south of Harlingen. The WONSERADEEL-(MAKKUM)-PROTESTANT CHURCHYARD surrounds the church, which is on the northern outskirts of the village close to the dyke. The British plot is on the northern side of the church.

He was reported 'Missing After Air Operations' in casualty list No. 942 of the Royal Canadian Air Force, published in the Globe and Mail on July 24, 1944.   He was reported 'Previously Missing, Now Officially Presumed Dead' in casualty list No. 1132 of the Royal Canadian Air Force, published in the Globe and Mail on March 5, 1945.
