F/O McCracken was a member of 408 Squadron, Pathfinder Force. 
Halifax HR864 was airborne 2146 25Jul43 from Gransden Lodge. Outbound, the aircraft was shot down by a night-fighter crashing at Ten Boer (Groningen) 12 km NE of Groningen, Holland. 
The crew are:  F/O M.E.Tomczak; Sgt A.J.Wood; F/O A.P.McCracken;  Sgt C.J.V.Kettley;  Sgt E.K.White; F/S M.S.Smyth; F/O A.J.Sochowski was interned in Camp L3, PoW No.1649.
