  • Gravemarker – This is the Memorial for Pilot Officer Victor A. Knox who was the Tail Gunner in the same plane that I was in.  We were shot down the night of April 22/23, 1944 over Laon in L'Aisne, and he was the only fatal casualty.  He lies in Couvron Amencour Communal Cemetery.  Victor's stone is on the left; on the right is the stone of an unknown Airman.

A photo of Jack Knox, the brother of Victor, who served with him in 419 Moose Sqn. and completed 40 trips.  He was instructor in England before being shipped home.
