(Photo Matthew Emmott) P/O Pepper was killed Dec. 17, 1941 when Anson aircraft N9842 crashed during a training flight at #2 Air Observer School, Millom near Haverigg. Also killed was P/O (OB) Owen Crump who is buried in the Rippleside Cemetery, Barking, Essex, Eng. and Sgt. (P) Wm. J. Peggie who is buried in the Abbotshall Churchyard Cemetery, Kirkcaldy, Fifeshire, Scotland. (Courtesy "They Shall Grow Not Old" Commonwealth Air Training Plan Museum, Brandon, Manitoba.)
