Taken at the site of the crash of Hawker Hurricane V5734 - August 2024. P/O Robert’s aircraft flew into the high ground near Great Rundale Tarn on the Pennines above Dufton, England. What was left of the aircraft at the crash site has since disappeared into the soft peat bog. I left the cross as my father still remembers the day of the crash and later visiting the wreckage. A small cairn of stones marks the approximate location.
