Born 28 September 1919. Son of Albert and Rachael (née Sharpe) Young, of Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. Brother of Lillian Young Scanlan born 24 January 1916, Flying Officer John Young, born 9 May 1917, Mildred Young Hagar, born 13 July 1918, Leading Air Craftsman Robert Young, born 5 August 1921, Dorothy Young born 4 February 1926 and Douglas Young, born 22 June 1932. Fred A. Norton, cousin of the family stated that some of Flying Officer Young's sisters would not accept the fact he possibly would not be coming home. It was intrepreted to the rest of the family that he missing and may be alive.

HEVERLEE WAR CEMETERY Belgium

HEVERLEE WAR CEMETERY is located 30 km from Brussels and 3 km south of Leuven.

Turn left out of Leuven railway station onto the Tiensevest(ring road R 23). Follow the Tiensevest through the junctions Tiensepoort and Parkpoort and along the Naamsepoort.

Turn left at the Naamsepoort onto the Naamsesteenweg (N251) signposted Namen, Waver & Heverlee. Continue until you cross the railway line at Heverlee and take the first left turn into the Hertogstraat. Follow Hertogstraat to the end and turn right at the Sport Hall onto the Kerpelstraat. Continue down the Kerpelstraat until you come to a crossroads at which the HEVERLEE WAR CEMETERY is located.
