Additional information
Son of Colin Cecil Pope and Gretchen Laura Luline Bailey, of Cookshire, Québec. His brother, William Rufus Pope, service number E-29819, Royal Rifles of Canada, also died in captivity in Hong Kong.

Colin Clifford first served with the 7/11 Hussars Signals – NPAM – and qualified as a telegraphist. He then served in Québec, in Newfoundland with Force W, in Hong Kong with Force C and in Japan as prisoner of war. He had 1,350 days of service, including 880 overseas.

YOKOHAMA WAR CEMETERY Japan

YOKOHAMA WAR CEMETERY is 9 kilometres west of the city on Yuenchi-Dori, Hodogaya Ward, which branches left off the old Tokkaido highway. The nearest railway station is Hodogaya, 5 kilometres to the north on the JNR line but the cemetery is easily reached by bus from Yokohama station.
