  • Photo of Arthur Douglas Cooper– Cooper, Arthur Douglas - Flight Sergeant. Born 6th May, 1921, at Winnipeg.  Educated at Connaught School, Regina; Caswell School, Saskatoon, and Nanaimo High School Entered the service of the Bank 1st August, 1939. Served at Nanaimo, B.C., and Powell Street (Vancouver). Enlisted 17th May, 1941, from the latter branch in R.C.A.F. Flight Sergeant in September, 1942. Trained at Brandon, Man., Saskatoon, Sask., Edmonton, Alta. and Boundary Bay, B.C. Graduated from McLeod, Alta. Overseas in 1942.  Killed on active service in September, 1942. Buried in Cottesmore Cemetery, Rutlandshire, England. (Flight Sergeant Cooper was a nephew of Mr. J. B. Smith, formerly Manager of the Securities Department of the Bank, Toronto branch.) From a memorial booklet prepared by the Canadian Bank of Commerce.
