James enlisted into the C.E.F. at Vancouver BC on Oct. 20th 1915, he listed his occupation as "Machinist"  James died at Vancouver BC of the Spanish flu on March 8th 1919 at the age of 28.  He was laid to rest in the Mountain View Cemetery of Vancouver BC.
