Enlistment:

February 8, 1915
Québec, Quebec

Baptized Henri-Joseph-Adrien Dupéré. Son of Louis Dupéré and Lucienne Topping (deceased in 1908), of St-Romuald-d’Etchemin and of Québec. At enlistment, he stated being born in 1893 and that his last name was spelled “Duperé”. However, it appears that he signed “Duperié”, and was recorded as such in the 41st Battalion’s embarkation list, and later in the Book of Remembrance.

However, this family’s last name changed from “Dupéré” to “Duperré” and was spelled as such on his headstone.

At the time of his death, the 22nd Battalion was in support of the 4th Brigade near the village of Vimy, and Adrien was severely wounded during fatigue duty in the sector, possibly by a shell. He was evacuated to No. 6 Casualty clearing station in Bruay-la-Bussière where he died that day.

Commemorated on Page 232 of the First World War Book of Remembrance. Request a copy of this page. Download high resolution copy of this page.
