Husband of Ellen Cousins of Liverpool, Lancashire, England. Father of James Joseph and Frances Cox.He died on 5 August 1914 in hospital in Valparaiso, Chile, of an unknown cause and buried in Fort Cemetery. He was the captain of a four-masted bark.
