Son of Edward Harold and Gertrude Clifton of Middlesex, England. Husband of Joan Mary (nee Tulloch) Clifton and father of Susan, Lesley, Douglas and Kenneth Clifton of Kingston, Ontario. Brother of Peter Clifton and Jean Crump. Flight Lieutenant Clifton served with the Royal Air Force from 6 September 1943 to 3 May 1948 and with the Royal Canadian Air Force from 17 October 1950.
