Son of Percival and Grace of Medicine Hat, AB. Brother of David and Neil Cormier.

A memorial service was held at Hope Slide, viewing platform on the 60th anniversary of the crash of Albatross rescue aircraft commemorating five members of the Canadian Forces who lost their lives when the plane crashed into the side of the mountain, just east of Hope, about 140 km from Vancouver, British Columbia.

Captain (retired) Robert Reid was the only survivor of the crash attended the ceremony.
