Son of Kenneth Wayne and Bonnie Wasden of Spiritwood, Saskatchewan. Husband of Shannon Leanne Wasden and father of Makayla Dawn Walsh of Lancaster Park, Alberta.
The Province of Saskatchewan honoured Corporal Wasden by naming Dustin Wasden Island for him. The Island can be found in the province's northern reaches on Wasden Lake which honours Dustin's great-uncle Private Harold Douglas Wasden, who died in 1944 in the Netherlands as he fought in the Second World War.
