Cst. Sedgick was formerly with the Winnipeg City Police for two years. He was posted to Kamloops Detachment and then to Penticton. He went to the Dog Section in 1977 and worked with his dog Max for three years. A vehicle was swerving erratically in the passing lane and overtook Cst. Sedgick’s police car. As it did, it suddenly veered to its right and side-swiped the police car causing Cst. Sedgick to lose control of the vehicle. The police car fishtailed, flipped and skidded into other vehicles. Cst. Sedgwick was married to Karen and they had two sons. He is buried in the Elmwood Cemetery in Winnipeg, MB.

Commemorated on Page 165 of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police Honour Roll Book.
