Sgt. Schrader was from Alberta and served most of his career in Saskatchewan. He and Cst. Anson were investigating a domestic dispute. When he saw that his partner was mortally wounded, he tried to get back to the police car and radio for help, but was shot before he could reach the car. Sgt. Schrader was married to Constance and they had five children. He is buried at Depot.

Commemorated on Page 141 of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police Honour Roll Book.
