Cpl. Harvey was known by his second name, ‘Archie’. In training he was known as “the best boxer in barracks”. He served in eight different detachments in Alberta. On the day of this death, Cpl. Harvey and his partner responded to a call of a murder. Cpl. Harvey was shot in an ambush. Cpl. Harvey was married to Hilda and they had two children. He is buried at the United Church Cemetery in Arcola, SK. Since Cpl. Harvey’s death an Annual Golf Tournament is held in his memory. All the funds raised go to the ‘Archie Harvey Memorial Bursary’ at the Grande Prairie Regional College.
