3/Cst. Tidman was born in Wimbledon, London, England and immigrated to Canada as a child. He was raised in Ottawa, Ontario. During training, 3/Cst. Tidman was assessed as being “mature, willing to please, conscientious and good natured”. At the time of his death, he had only been at his detachment in Saskatoon for four months. 3/Cst. Tidman attempted to avoid a collision by braking and swerving to the right, but it was too late. 3/Cst. Tidman was single.

Commemorated on Page 132 of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police Honour Roll Book.
