Royal Canadian Mounted Police
In 1932, Sgt. Barker was promoted to Corporal and then to Sergeant in 1933. He was shot and killed at the Grand Hotel in Shaunavon, Saskatchewan. Sgt. Barker had other family members in the Force. He is buried at Depot and there is a street named in his honour. Sgt. Barker had a wife, Gladys, and a son.
