Cst. Horan was a steel worker with Dominion Steel and Coal and had been an amateur boxer. He died in an automobile accident near Belleville, Ontario. Cst. Horan is buried at Gillis Cove, Nova Scotia.

Commemorated on Page 60 of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police Honour Roll Book.
