Sergeant Searle was originally from England. He drowned while on patrol in pursuit of whiskey runners, when a flooded stream washed the road away near Creston, British Columbia. His wife, Amy, moved back to England after his death. Sergeant Searle’s name appears on the NCO’s plaque on the wall of the RCMP Chapel in Regina.
