Royal Canadian Mounted Police
Prior to joining the NWMP, Special Constable Carter was a carpenter. He was posted at Hamilton, Ontario. On September 30, 1910, he was discharged to pension as a Constable from the RNWMP and hired as a Special Constable to guide the patrol for the trip from McPherson to Dawson. He died from starvation, exposure and exhaustion while on the MacPherson Dawson patrol. He was married with two children.
