Maj Gordon Brooks Wright DSO, RCE, a graduate of the Royal Military College of Canada (Cadet 558) was killed in action in France 21 May 1915. He was buried at the Hinges Military Cemetery, Pas De Calais, France. His brother, Major J.S. Wright 50th Bn CEP, a graduate of the Royal Military College of Canada (814) Canadian Infantry (Alberta Regiment), was killed in action in France 18 Nov 1916. He is remembered on the Vimy Memorial; Pas de Calais, France. Their mother, Mrs Josua Wright, unveiled the Memorial Arch at the Royal Military College of Canada. -

On the 15th June 1924, the Memorial Arch, Royal Military College of Canada, Kingston, Ontario was unveiled by Mrs. Joshua Wright, mother of two ex-cadets who gave their lives in the First World War, and was dedicated by the Rt-Rev Dr. Bidwell, Lord Bishop of Ontario. #558 Major Gordon Brooks Wright, DSO, RCE, (RMC 1901) was killed in action in France on 21 May 1915. #814 Major Joshua Stanley Wright, 50th Bn CEF (RMC 1912) of the Canadian Infnatry (Alberta Regiment) was killed in action in France on 18 Nov 1916. HINGES MILITARY CEMETERY Pas de Calais, France
Hinges is a village and commune in the Pas-de-Calais some 5 kilometres north-west of Bethune. The HINGES MILITARY CEMETERY is on the southern side of the village adjoining the Communal Cemetery. From the church in Hinges head south west on the Rue de Bethune. The HINGES MILITARY CEMETERY is 400 metres from the church on the left hand side.
