Additional information
Robert Charmillot immigrated to Canada in March 1913 and moved to Winnipeg. In February 1918, he was enrolled as a conscript. He named his brother Joseph, of Rebeuvelier, Switzerland, as next of kin.
When he arrived in France, he was assigned to the 8th Battalion, joining them on 6 September 1918. One week later, he was transferred to the 22nd Battalion, but before rejoining the unit on the field, he was killed in action, during the attack at Cambrai. His transfer to the 22nd Battalion was therefore cancelled.
