Baptized Joseph-Hormisdas-Philippe Desjardins. Son of Trefflé Desjardins (deceased in 1896) and Alphonsine Robidoux (remarried in 1900 to Nazaire Gévry, she died in 1911). Husband of Aldéa Provost, of Montréal, Québec. He stated being born in 1890 when he enlisted.
Enlisted in the 69th Reserve Battalion of the Canadian Expeditionary Force. He left all his possessions to Mrs. Marie Vincent of Montreal, Quebec. Transferred to the 22nd Battalion on September 27, 1916, he landed in France the same day. He was wounded in combat for the first time on February 12, 1917, and for the second time on May 14. He was killed in action on August 9, 1918, during the Battle of Amiens, France, between Vrély and Méharicourt.
Brother of Private Joseph Desjardins, who died while serving with the Canadian Infantry (Quebec Regiment).
