Burial/memorial information
Enlisted in the 167th Battalion of the Canadian Expeditionary Force, he was first transferred to the 189th Battalion on 15 September 1916, and sailed for England, arriving in Liverpool on 6 October. He was immediately assigned to the 69th Reserve Battalion until 4 January 1917, when he was transferred to the 10th Reserve Battalion. Transferred to the 22nd Battalion on 17 April, he landed at Le Have in France on 18 April and was killed in action on 10 August 1918 during the Battle of Amiens.
